Abstract
To create devices and systems that may be termed “smart”, design principles still need clarification. This article presents a methodology for implementing “smartness” into individual objects, and for connecting them into intelligent cyber-physical systems. A simple algorithm is presented that brings smart faculties of sensing and learning into objects, and systemically cross-programs between smart objects, thus paving the way towards a smart Internet of Things. The methodology was developed for Smart Homes and Smart Cities, and will be developed further for industrial and commercial buildings.
