Abstract
The integration of climate adaptation in environmental assessment (EA) has to be based on a risk assessment which not only has to look at the effects of the planned urban development but also on the effects of climate change on the urban development. This is of particular importance because urban development has to consider uncertainties regarding the impact of climate change. This article presents case studies to compare different approaches to deal with these uncertainties and evaluates their suitability for EA in binding land-use planning.
