Abstract
In geodesy and geoinformatics, the topic of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is becoming increasingly present. One area of application is indoor navigation, where the map basis is provided by a BIM. In the prototype environment of HafenCity University (HCU), where an app for indoor navigation is being developed, the building is used as a model in LOD 200. On the one hand, it is available for 2D and 3D representation and orientation in the navigation app, and on the other hand as input for the positioning algorithms and the generation of routing graphs. However, due to limitations of IFC files in retrieving information, it is necessary to store the BIM data in a database. With the aim of using the information from the BIM in indoor navigation in real time, the project “Level 5 Indoor-Navigation” is investigating how to transfer the data from the BIM into a database. The present work enables the export of essential components of an IFC file as well as their further processing using SQL.
