    Abstract

From the perspective of planetary urbanization, this paper proposes an idea of postrural urbanization in the context of population shrinking and urban feedback, and discusses the current dilemma of rural development and exploratory planning practices in Germany. With Thuringia rural area in Germany as an example, the paper explores the dilemma of the traditional "top-down" development approaches, as well as the complementary development approaches of "bottom-up" and its planning methodology. In brief, it tries to provide an alternative theoretical perspective and planning methodology to contribute to define China's urban-rural relationship and rural planning construction in the new era.
