ATR (Architecture – TGA with DI – REAP)

The ATR Department brings together architecture, building services engineering (TGA), digital infrastructure (DI), and resource efficiency in order to develop an integrated understanding of spaces, buildings, landscapes, and cities. Here the built environment is understood as a designed living environment in which design, construction, energy, materials, use, and operation are inseparably connected.

At its core lies the question of how we want to live, plan, build, supply, operate, maintain, and transform our environments in the future. Design, technology, and research form a shared field of practice and inquiry: from the architectural design of specific spaces and intelligent building technologies to resource-efficient strategies for urban regions in diverse geographical and cultural contexts.

As part of a university dedicated to the built environment and metropolitan development, the department addresses the key transformation challenges of our time: climate change, energy, digitalization, resource management, circular systems, and equitable living environments.
