Description
The HafenCity University hosted its first Urban Resilience Symposium: foundations revisited and new directions for urban transformations, with the purpose of bringing together an exciting and diverse panel of international researchers to exchange via a series of impulse talks and discussion sessions on the current state of urban resilience as an adopted concept and approach for urban development. The following international guest panellists were welcomed at the HCU: Lorenzo Chelleri (UIC, Spain), Giulia Datola (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), Nicola Tollin (SDU, Denmark), Heike Köckler (Hochschule Bochum, Germany), Annisa Triyanti (UU, Netherlands), Maksym Terletsky (City Institute Lviv, Ukraine), Emma Colven (King´s College, London, UK), Charlotte Heinzlef (UVSQ, France), Alexandra Engström (HSG, Switzerland), Pasquale Capizzi (ARUP), David Jácome-Polit (ICLEI) and Bruna Pincegher (Politecnico di Torino, Italy). The session series were scheduled during two days, on November 25th and 26th 2025, and were organised along four themes: foundations, equity, dimensions and bouncing forward. Each of the planned sessions consisted of three short impulse talks, followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A. The event was an open invitation for scholars, researchers and students with an interest in the topic of urban resilience to take part, listen in to the sessions and bring ideas or questions into the exchange.| Period | 25 Nov 2025 → 26 Nov 2025 |
