Abstract
Recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) are reshaping the labour market, altering the way tasks and jobs interact with digital technologies. Given the close relationship between labour market dynamics and geography, understanding spatial variations in AI exposure is essential. This paper applies the Artificial Intelligence Occupational Exposure (AIOE) score to analyze workforce exposure at the district level in Germany. The results reveal clear geographic disparities, with central and urban areas generally more exposed, albeit with many exceptions. Findings suggest that AI exposure does not neatly align with simple spatial archetypes, highlighting the importance of considering local and contextual factors for deeper analysis.
